Born & brought up in Lozells & Aston (& still here), five determined Professionals with strong credentials in teaching, youth and community work co-founded ASPIRE & SUCCEED (a non-profit making social enterprise) to put Academic Achievement and Community empowerment at the heart of improving our neighbourhoods.
Our main aim is to promote academic achievement as a visible community aspiration shared by all residents regardless of ethnic background. We believe all families want their children to succeed in education and move on to a rewarding career (tried and tested route for upward social mobility); and research evidence suggests both school & home factors jointly affect this.
Hence our work is about supporting programmes that make ‘home’ factors easier for all which also includes promotion of access to rights & entitlements and effective cross community activities.
